What we collect
When you submit the enquiry form on this website we collect your name and phone number, and — where you choose to provide them — your email address, vehicle details, registration, location and the description of the work you need. We also record the IP address the enquiry was sent from, which helps us identify automated spam submissions.
If you call, message us on WhatsApp or send an email, we hold whatever you tell us in that conversation for as long as it is needed to carry out the work.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and quote for the work.
- To carry out the job, including confirming which key your vehicle requires.
- To keep a record of work completed, for warranty and accounting purposes.
- To protect the form from automated abuse.
Our lawful basis is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract once agreed.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to third parties for marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list from an enquiry.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted once they are clearly no longer relevant. Records of completed jobs are retained for six years, which is the period required for UK accounting records.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Laravel sets a session cookie and a CSRF token cookie, both of which are strictly necessary for the enquiry form to work securely.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. Email ben@bwkeysautolocksmith.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
Enquiries are stored on the server that runs this website and are accessible only to us. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect them, though no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed as completely secure.
