1. Who we are
These terms apply to work carried out by BW Keys Auto Locksmith of Maidstone, Kent (“we”, “us”). Contacting us to arrange work means you accept them.
2. Proof of ownership
We will not cut a key, code a key or open a vehicle without satisfactory evidence that you are the owner or are authorised by the owner. Acceptable evidence includes the V5C logbook, insurance documents for the vehicle, or a driving licence matching the registered keeper's address. Company vehicles require authorisation from the business. If suitable evidence cannot be produced we will decline the work, and a callout charge may still apply.
3. Quotations
Prices quoted over the phone are based on the vehicle details you give us — make, model, year and registration. If the vehicle on arrival differs from what was described, or the fault turns out to be different from the one reported, we will requote before continuing. You are free to decline at that point.
4. Opening hours and arrival times
We operate open 7 days a week, 9:00 am – 10:00 pm. We are not a 24-hour service. Arrival times given are estimates made in good faith; traffic, weather and the length of a preceding job can affect them, and we will keep you informed if a time changes materially.
5. Access and working conditions
You are responsible for ensuring the vehicle is accessible and that we can work on it safely and legally. Where a vehicle is parked somewhere that makes safe working impossible, we may ask for it to be moved before proceeding.
6. The work itself
Auto locksmithing occasionally uncovers pre-existing faults — worn barrels, previous poor-quality repairs, damaged wiring or immobiliser modules that have already failed. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, though we will always tell you what we have found and what your options are before going further.
A small number of vehicles require component replacement or dealer intervention that is outside the scope of mobile work. Where that is the case we will say so and will not charge for work we have not completed, though a diagnostic or callout fee may apply.
7. Keys and parts supplied
Keys, remotes and lock components supplied by us carry a twelve-month warranty against manufacturing defect from the date of fitting. The warranty does not cover physical damage, water damage, battery depletion, loss, or faults arising from subsequent work carried out by others.
Where you supply your own key or remote, we will program it if it is the correct part and in working order, but we cannot warrant parts we did not supply. If a customer-supplied part proves faulty, our labour remains chargeable.
8. Payment
Payment is due on completion, once the key or repair has been tested and you are satisfied it works. We accept card and bank transfer. Trade and business accounts can be invoiced by prior arrangement, payable within the agreed terms.
9. Cancellations
You can cancel at no cost before we set out. If we have already travelled to the vehicle, a callout charge may apply to cover the journey.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our liability in connection with any job is limited to the amount charged for that job. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as loss of earnings or missed appointments.
11. Complaints
If something is not right, contact us first on 07449 619 128 or ben@bwkeysautolocksmith.co.uk. We would far rather put a problem right than leave a customer unhappy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute falls to the courts of England and Wales.
