Keys snap because they have been flexing for months, or because the lock behind them has stiffened. Either way the broken half has to come out without scoring the cylinder.
We extract the blade with proper extraction tooling, check the barrel for damage caused by the break, and cut a new key to your vehicle on the spot. If the underlying lock has worn far enough to cause the break, we will say so rather than let it happen again next month.
